By now, you’ve seen the memes about Sharon Weiss. You’ve laughed endlessly at her pie’s misfortune. You may have even been lucky enough to catch the original thread that inspired it all. I’m talking, of course, about the now-viral Facebook post on the Marie Callender’s company Facebook page, created by one Sharon Weiss after she burned her Thanksgiving pie into a crumbly, blackened Internet sensation and promptly placed blame on the eponymous company.

“Thanks Marie Callender for ruining Thanksgiving dessert,” Sharon sniped, and the rest, as they say, is history. Sharon would instantly take her place in the canon of Internet Karens, right up there with Permit Patty and Barbeque Becky.

The torrent of mockery she unleashed has taken on a life of its own. While Marie Callender’s did, to their credit, quickly respond to her post in a helpful and professional manner, the rest of the interwebs were far less polite. Commenters wondered whether she had put her oven on the “hell” setting or why she had baked her pie in a certain crevice of Satan’s physique. Still more asked just how many pre-Thanksgiving cocktails Sharon had downed that caused her to forget her pie was in the oven. Others questioned whether her oven timer was actually a calendar. The memes proliferated.
